About Torsborg
Deeply rooted in the heart of Österlen
Torsborg was built in the mid-1850s, after being moved from the village of Gladsax. Small-scale farmers lived and worked here under simple conditions until the 1960s. At that time, the farm was subdivided and transformed into a peaceful holiday home for an engineer's family from Stockholm. Over the years, the farm has had several owners, all of whom have left their unique mark. Among these was an Italian composer who arranged for a sculpture by his good friend, the artist Maurizio Nazzaretto from Genoa, to be brought here. Since that day, the sculpture 'The Knight' has stood by the entrance, welcoming our guests.

In 2000, Torsborg was converted into a B&B, and in 2013, we took over the farmstead ourselves. We fell for its genuine charm and the breathtaking location, overlooking the Baltic Sea, the island of Bornholm, and the rolling landscapes of Österlen. Watching hundreds of seabirds take flight from the sea at sunrise is just as fascinating every time – almost addictive!
Over the years, we have updated our estate with a focus on both higher standards and long-term sustainability. All rooms and apartments have been carefully renovated to preserve the soul of the farmhouse. Heating is provided by an efficient geothermal heat pump, and half of our electricity now comes from our own solar panels. For our guests' safety, we have also installed modern fire alarms in every room, and in the garden, our heated pool awaits – tempered by the farm's own energy.
The location is among the best in Österlen.
A short walk takes us to the Bäckhalladalen nature reserve, one of Skåne's finest natural areas. Here, we can hike through beautiful deciduous forests, listen to the nightingale’s song, and look at unique ripple marks (fossilized waves). It is easy to get around by bike to one of Österlen's beautiful beaches or out into nature. The old town of Simrishamn is just down the hill – Österlen's "capital" with its range of services, shops, and restaurants..
We couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Neither can our regular guests, many of whom return year after year. And we want our guests to enjoy Torsborg just as much as we do – and feel the magic of Österlen.
We are happy to share all our hidden gems: the most beautiful beaches, the best hiking trails, and our favorite restaurants and cozy cafés. Let us help you find your way among the vast selection of gardens, galleries, museums, and farm shops.
A warm welcome to Torsborg – come and create your own Österlen experience!
